Mixed Martial Arts

Mixed Martial Arts, or MMA, is a sport that combines fighting styles like karate, wrestling, boxing and more. It became official in 1993 with the start of the UFC. The MMA discipline makes you stronger, teaches self-defense, and helps with staying disciplined and focused. It’s a great way for staying active and learning how to handle the physical and mental challenges of life. We use the following Arts in our Mixed Martial Arts training here at Xcite MMA

Boxing

Boxing is a powerful sport that's all about using your fists and has been around since ancient Greece times. Officially, modern boxing started in the 19th century.

Boxing is focused on the ability to hit and not be hit, but more importantly of getting the edge on your opponent by getting an angle of advantage.

It's not just about throwing punches; it's about defense, strategy, and quick thinking. People who box get into top shape, gain lightning-fast reflexes, and build serious confidence. It teaches focus and self-discipline, too.

Whether it’s in our MMA classes or one-on-one training, boxing is a key part that helps our students become all-around stronger and smarter fighters.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai, known as the "Art of Eight Limbs," is a striking sport from Thailand that's been around for centuries.

It uses punches, kicks, elbows, and knee strikes, making it a very dynamic way to fight. It started way back in the 16th century and is a big part of our MMA classes. Training in Muay Thai makes is highly aerobic, helping you get really fit while teaching you powerful self-defense moves.

It's also great for building discipline, respect, and mental toughness. Whether mixed into our MMA trainings, Muay Thai gives our students the skills to stand strong in both the ring and life.

Wrestling

Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in the world, dating back to ancient civilizations. It's all about grappling—using holds and leverage to take your opponent down to the ground.

Wrestling became an official Olympic sport in the late 19th century and is a core part of our MMA training. It builds incredible strength, endurance, and agility. Plus, it teaches important life skills like discipline, strategy, and the value of hard work.

In our MMA classes, wrestling provides a solid foundation for self-defense and helps students master control and technique in close combat situations.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or BJJ, is a martial art focused on ground fighting and submission holds. It evolved from Japanese Judo in the early 20th century in Brazil and has become a key component of MMA.

BJJ teaches you how to control an opponent by using leverage and technique, often allowing a smaller person to defend against a bigger adversary. It's not just physical—it’s like a chess match, requiring you to think several moves ahead.

Our BJJ coaches are black and purple belt, ready to enhance your strength, flexibility, and problem-solving skills. Offered both within our MMA classes and as dedicated sessions in the mornings, BJJ is perfect for those looking to sharpen their mind and body in a supportive, strategic, and disciplined environment.

What others are Saying Lately...

I have been going to this gym 4 days a week for a few months now and I am pleased with the results. Carson is a good coach and really helps me get what I need out of the workouts. The other coaches are great as well. The atmosphere in the gym is amazing. The people who attend are great and in general everyone has the desire to improve which makes working out there more worthwhile. No one is judgmental or belittling. All in all I am extremely grateful to be able to train at this gym

Best gym out there by far! Carson is by far the most personable, caring, dedicated coach that truly takes his time with each student to ensure they all can learn in the way that works for them!

He is respectful and passionate about the sport and ensures that each student (no matter their skill level) feels equal, comfortable, and ensures they understand and progress during and in-between practices.

Carson is the best coach, and this gym is the best gym in the state for kids and adults to learn MMA!! Highly recommend to everyone, best investment for your children or for yourself hands down!!
