Mixed Martial Arts

is a dynamic and challenging sport that blends various combat styles, including karate, wrestling, boxing, and more. It gained worldwide recognition in 1993 with the launch of the UFC and has since become one of the fastest-growing sports globally.

At Xcite MMA, our MMA program goes beyond just physical training — it builds strength, sharpens self-defense skills, and instills discipline, focus, and resilience. It’s an excellent way to stay active while learning to overcome both physical and mental challenges.

We train our athletes using a combination of the following martial arts:

Boxing

Boxing is a powerful sport that's all about using your fists and has been around since ancient Greece times. Officially, modern boxing started in the 19th century.

Boxing is focused on the ability to hit and not be hit, but more importantly of getting the edge on your opponent by getting an angle of advantage.

At its core, boxing is more than just throwing punches — it's the art of striking while avoiding being struck. It focuses on footwork, timing, defense, and creating angles to outsmart your opponent and gain the upper hand.

At Xcite MMA, boxing is a core part of our training. We incorporate it into our MMA program and also offer dedicated boxing classes for teens and adults, as well as private one-on-one sessions for those looking for more personalized instruction.

Muay Thai

Muay Thai, known as the “Art of Eight Limbs,” is a powerful and dynamic striking art from Thailand that’s been practiced for centuries. It uses punches, kicks, elbows, and knee strikes — making it one of the most effective and complete stand-up fighting styles in the world.

Originating in the 16th century, Muay Thai is a key component of our MMA program at Xcite MMA. Training in this discipline is highly aerobic, helping students improve endurance, strength, and overall fitness while learning practical and powerful self-defense techniques.

But Muay Thai goes beyond physical conditioning — it also teaches discipline, respect, and mental toughness, helping students grow both as athletes and individuals. By incorporating Muay Thai into our MMA training, we give our students the tools to stay strong, sharp, and confident — in the gym, in the ring, and in life.

Wrestling

Wrestling is one of the oldest and most respected combat sports in the world, with roots tracing back to ancient civilizations. Centered on grappling, it focuses on using technique, leverage, and body control to take opponents to the ground and dominate in close-range situations.

Wrestling became an official Olympic sport in the late 19th century and is a fundamental part of our MMA program at Xcite MMA. We also offer private one-on-one wrestling sessions for those looking to sharpen their skills with personalized coaching.

Training in wrestling builds exceptional strength, endurance, balance, and agility. It also instills valuable life lessons — from discipline and resilience to strategic thinking and work ethic.

As part of our MMA training, wrestling provides a strong foundation for self-defense and teaches students how to stay in control under pressure — both on the mat and in everyday life.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a ground-based martial art focused on control, leverage, and submission holds. Originating from Japanese Judo and refined in Brazil in the early 20th century, BJJ has become a core element of modern MMA.

BJJ is often described as physical chess — it teaches you to stay calm under pressure, think strategically, and use technique to overcome size and strength.

At Xcite MMA, we incorporate BJJ into our MMA program, offer dedicated adult BJJ classes, and provide private lessons for more personalized training. Our experienced coaches, including black and purple belts, are here to help you improve strength, flexibility, and problem-solving on and off the mat.
